Who We Are
In 2008, twelve students, Jonathan Matthews, Melanie Moskow, Eric Morgera, Corey Flayman, Austin McKee, Taylor Cortez, Carlynn Ross, Stevan Brenner, Charlie Messa, James Lilly, Melanie Wolfson, and Jamie Goldman, with the direction of Andrew Kirschner founded the Maroon Missionaries Organization. Shortly after their foundation, they acquired another student, Chris Sentoff, because of his dedication and enthusiasm toward the organization’s cause. The Maroon Missionaries Organization introduced a new approach to ending the genocide and ethnic cleansing in Darfur - a proactive approach. In short, they said: Let’s stop talking at people and let’s start conversations that lead to action.
This heritage is a unique strength that continually tells us who we are, what we believe and how we should behave. It inspires us to continually challenge our leaders and officials to make a change. Since the start of our organization, we have been leading the revolution of change.
